Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a perimeter wire in my lawn?

Our robotic lawnmowers use a combination of visual mapping and ground-based-GPS (RTK) for centimetre-precise navigation. No boundary wires are installed with our products.

Where does my charging station need to be?

The charging stations are weatherproof. We'll advise you on the best position within your garden and near a power outlet

What if I don't have an outside power outlet?

We can arrange for our qualified electrician to fit an external socket in a position of your choosing.

What happens to the grass clippings?

Robotic mowers are mulchers. They cut tiny "micro-clippings" that fall into the soil, acting as a natural fertiliser.

Can it handle steep slopes?

Our standard models come with all-wheel-drive and the ability to navigate the majority of lawn gradients. Our lawn surveyor will advise on the correct mower for your landscape.

Does it work in the rain?

The robots we install take a break when rain is forecast. They can cut in the rain, but the cut grass can get deposited in clumps on the lawn, which our customers find unattractive.

Can it mow at night?

Yes. They are extremely quiet, roughly the volume of a quiet conversation, so they won't disturb neighbours.

How does it handle obstacles like toys, balls or pets?

All our robotic mowers have advanced AI-driven cameras to avoid them entirely without contact.

Are robotic mowers safe for hedgehogs?

Yes. Our mowers can avoid obstacles like hedgehogs at night. In fact, the type of mulching we use helps improve their food supply - worms!

Is it safe for pets and children?

Yes. They feature "lift and tilt" sensors that stop the blades instantly if the mower is moved. The blades are also tucked far under the chassis.

Can someone steal it?

The robotic lawnmowers have a range of anti-theft features as standard. Our mowers are bound to our systems and cannot be reset to factory settings making them useless when moved.

How often do you service the mower?

Our minimum servicing is three times a year, but this depends on your lawn size. Our servicing packages include replacement blades, software updates and any other adjustments to maintain a clean cut and pristine lawn.

How long does the battery last?

Most of the robotic lawnmowers we install run on a roughly 90 minutes of charging to 90 minutes of run time.

How much electricity does it use?

They are very efficient, usually costing only £25 in electricity per year for the average garden size, even at today's energy prices!

Does it work with my home automation system?

Our mowers can be connected to common smart home automation systems like Alexa and Google Assistant.

What do I do with it in winter?

That's where we come in. We over-winter the robotic lawnmower. We give it a full service and clean it thoroughly before we store it ready for the spring.
